Sunrise Waldorf School

Sunrise Waldorf School is located on beautiful Vancouver Island and is a 27-year-old, AWSNA accredited school. Sunrise Waldorf School sits on seven bucolic acres in the Cowichan Valley of Vancouver Island. Lush forests and mountain trails abound for year-round hiking. Ocean and lakefronts offer diverse water adventures. The rugged beauty of the west coast is less than an hour away as are the rich cultural offerings of Victoria. Vancouver and Seattle are just a ferry ride away. Our school includes a parent-toddler program, two kindergartens and a first through eighth grade lower school. Waldorf education continues at nearby Island Oak Waldorf High School. We currently have approximately 180 enthusiastic students enrolled and a vibrant supporting community including a Camp Hill, Christian Community and Biodynamic Farm.

We are currently interviewing for the following positions:

Business Administrator

We are seeking a Business Administrator (BA) to start June 16, 2008. The BA works collaboratively with all groups of the school including, faculty, parents and board. (S)he heads-up a team of 5 full-time and part-time administrators. We offer a competitive salary (with increments for experience) and health insurance benefits. This is an exciting opportunity to serve a vibrant school while working in a collaborative governance structure.

Bookkeeper

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to join our team on April 21, 2008. The position will be a half to three quarter time position. The candidate should have experience with Excel and Simply Accounting. We offer a competitive salary (with increments for experience) and health insurance benefits.

Class One or First Grade Teacher

We are seeking a fully trained and experienced Waldorf class teacher to join our faculty as the first grade teacher for the 2008-09 school year. We offer a competitive salary (with increments for teaching experience), health insurance and tuition remission for qualified faculty children.

French Subject Teacher

We are seeking a French Language Teacher for grades one through eight for the 2008-2009 school year. We offer a competitive salary (with increments for teaching experience), health insurance and tuition remission for qualified faculty children.
